Cheney admits he was drinking
In his interview on Fox News last night, Cheney admitted that he had consumed "a beer" hours before the shooting. He didn't say whether it was a 12-ounce beer or a 32-ounce beer, or whether its alcohol content was 3 percent or 9 percent. Also, how many times have you told your parents (or the police) that you'd had just "a" beer? Not that Cheney even needs alcohol to impair his judgment.
Isn't Cheney also on heart medication? And aren't you supposed to avoid alcohol if you're on heart medication?
Meanwhile, although Whittington was listed as "stable" yesterday, he was being kept in intensive care "only to guard his privacy," according to hospital officials. They said Whittington was sitting up, eating "regular food" (in a hospital?), and contemplating doing legal work.
Hmmm...wonder what kind of legal work he's contemplating?

Whether or not this Whittington guy is eating it, hospitals most definitely serve regular food. Check out Good Sam's cafeteria sometime...they have everything from blackened salmon to chicken curry to made-to-order grill items, killer soups and salads. It's the best place in town to eat at 3 a.m. Seriously.
Bonus: They give new moms and dads a steak dinner, complete with champagne.
You nit picky idiot, it can be assumed that by saying he had A beer that it was probably not a lot. I am no Dick Cheney fan but I really doubt that he was staggering around drunk.
Bastard was drunk as a skunk.
...and furthermore, Cheney has two DUI convictions on his record. And those are just the times he's been caught. Nitpick that, Mr. Viddy!
First of all, I like your blog, second of, I like this post, but...
1. He didn't say whether it was a 12-ounce beer or a 32-ounce beer, or whether its alcohol content was 3 percent or 9 percent.
For a beer to be 9% ABV, it would, in all likelihood, be a fine-crafted microbrew, either an Imperial stout or IPA, a barleywine, or perhaps a Belgian Tripel. I'd bet good money that I don't have that Cheney's a Coors drinker.
2. Isn't Cheney also on heart medication? And aren't you supposed to avoid alcohol if you're on heart medication?
This must be a rhetorical question, right? Otherwise, I'd be forced to point out that the very fact that Cheney is on heart medication is a testament to his unhealthy lifestyle (don't you just love the delicious reference to anti-homosexual rhetoric?). Therefore, it should not be surprising at all that he was boozing it up on the farm before taking out his feelings of inadequacy on defenseless quail and a 78-year old lawyer.
Hey Howard,
I think you're right about Cheney's taste in beer - it had to be Coors, not just because Coors is a Republican company, but because their beer, like Cheney, is tasteless and weak. Cheney probably wouldn't be caught dead drinking a Hawks Imperial Stout. He might use the empty bottle for target practice, though.
And yes, it was a rhetorical question about Cheney's heart medication, but we're glad you went ahead and answered it anyway. You mean to tell us there are lifestyles more unhealthy than ho-mo-sex-yoo-al-uh-ty?
